The 3D HIP Titanium Implant is a first-of-its-kind patient-specific 3D-printed shelf implant for the treatment of naturally occurring and residual hip dysplasia in dogs. Developed to become the most effective but least invasive and least traumatic treatment for Canine Hip Dysplasia (CHD) in the market, 3D HIP offers a much safer and more feasible alternative to existing gold standard treatments Tripe/Double Pelvic Osteotomies (TPO/DPO).

Course Overview:

This course is designed for veterinarians seeking to elevate their expertise in diagnosing and surgically treating complex spinal conditions in dogs and even cats. Through a carefully curated mix of lectures, interactive sessions, and hands-on labs, this course offers a deep dive into the anatomy, pathology, imaging, and stabilization techniques of the cervical and lumbosacral spine.

The curriculum addresses thoracolumbar and lumbosacral conditions, including both canine and feline cases. The morning covers spinal diseases, imaging interpretation, and surgical indications for stabilization, particularly in Degenerative Lumbosacral Stenosis (DLSS) and spinal fractures.

Participants are introduced to advanced spinal implant technologies, including the innovative LeiPED Pedicle Screw System and the LeiCAGE Intervertebral Titanium Cages. The session covers technical details, surgical indications, and dedicated instrumentation for both systems. Together, LeiPED and LeiCAGE are designed to ensure reliable spinal fixation, restore disc height, support fusion, and provide immediate biomechanical stability with long-term osseointegration. In the afternoon, attendees will engage in a dry lab, practicing the use of the RL system on spinal models to gain tactile familiarity and technical precision.

Instructor Bio: Dr. Jeff Mayo has had a mobile surgical practice in the Seattle area since 2006. He is currently boarded in Canine and Feline Practice with the American Board of Veterinary Practice and is also boarded in Canine and Feline Orthopedics. Dr. Mayo has taught the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement procedure to many veterinarians around the world since 2006 and continues to offer the procedure to his present-day patients as the TTA Rapid® from Rita Leibinger Medical. His practice focuses on orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, as well as conservative management approaches to chronic osteoarthritis in dogs.
